Ottawa

I went to Ottawa a couple of days ago. I stayed with my uncle Doug, aunt Evelyn, and my cousins Felix and Gabriel. We went to the museum of natural history and looked at the exhibits for ocean life, birds and minerals. We had a lovely time even though I consumed about six pieces of yummy cheesecake. Here are some pictures for you. I took the pictures on my ipod, so they are pretty craptacular.

My whale stamp. If I had to get a tattoo (which I have no intention to do), then this would be it.

Stairway to heaven. Kind of.
Puffin. Yes. A puffin.
Bird show. I felt bad for all those dead birds. Thinking
that people are putting carcasses on display kind of grosses me out.

This bird is male. Can you believe that?
I way 23 ducks.
and 1833 hummingbirds.

Bubble rock. I thought it looked pretty darn cool.
The building from the outside.

I spent around fifteen minutes trying to get a decent photo of this fish with my crappy Ipod Camera.

Rasberries, Yarn Bombing and Other Fun Stuff

Our raspberry bush is blooming! {Do raspberries bloom?} I just thought I'd take some pictures before I ate them.

OH! Also I have two new discoveries!
1. Yarn bombing!!
Now, before you think I'm a liar and/or insane this is a thing! Yarn Bombing is like graffiti but you knit it first and then attach it to a gate or wall instead of using spray paint. Still don't believe me?  Go to  This Website and read up on it. This has inspired me to learn to knit. Here are some yarn bombing pics.

2. Snow man on 31 degree July day.
I actually saw one on a walk with my family.
I don't know where it came from.
I don't know how it stayed frozen.
I don't know how whoever did it got it there or kept it alive all winter.
It was just there.
In July.
On somebody's front lawn.
There you go.

Books+Guitar+Scarf

I have been reading a lot lately, and I recently started the hunger games (I'm so out of touch...) everyone was raving about it so I figured I probably set my expectations waaay too high, and finally I read it, and it was really good! Harry Potter is still, you know, EPIC, but the Hunger games was really hard to put down. Maybe that was why I finished it within two days.  I got it from the library (Ah, the library) and brought it back yesterday. There's a real waiting list on 'catching fire', 22 people (No lie!) So I checked out a bit more, much lighter reading. Scott Pilgrim. Another great book, I have no idea how many there are... I'm guessing seven. ALSO! Guess what I got? An acoustic guitar! Well, I got it fixed anyhow. We had this old broken guitar in the basement and I was going to get it fixed at the guitar boutique, but then dad said he'd pay for it. That was really nice of him considering the fact that it all came down to 70$. AND I *Finally* found my old Union Jack scarf that my mum got for me in England. It was at the bottom of my dresser, and it was hidden behind an ugly grey sweater, so I never thought of looking there.
Oh... and also at the library I bought a magazine. Called 'The epic gardener'. The epic gardener. WOW.
Here are some pics, and the earworm of today.

This song is dark, yes. But it was in gentlemen broncos.
Which is an epic movie and I suggest you see it.
Yup

Ringo in Jail

Ringo Starr was freaking put in jail. For flipping out at a U.S restaurant called BJ's. Daym. They freaking tasered him!

This is what they said;

"Former Beatles Drummer Ringo Starr was arrested in Houston, Texas this weekend after an incident in a local restaurant.

Starr was enjoying a meal with his wife, Barbara Bach, and a small group of friends at the chain restaurant, BJ’s Restaurant and Brewhouse last Friday night.  The staff called police after Starr became loud and belligerent when he was asked to sign his credit slip.

“He just started rambling, ‘Peace and love.  Peace and looooove.  No more autographs after the 20th of October.  It’s gonna be tossed.  Check the date.’ and then he tore up the check,” says BJ’s employee, Mark Johnson.  “Then he started climbing onto the table and kicking the salt and pepper shakers.”

Pamela MacComber, the manager of the restaurant had had enough.  “A server got some salt in her eye, so we knew it was time to call the authorities.  After that, it was out of our hands.”

“Mr. Starkey was uncooperative with Houston P.D. when they attempted to remove him from the restaurant,” says a police spokesperson.  “Officers on the scene decided that they had no other choice than use a Taser on Mr. Starkey in hopes of preventing him from injuring other patrons or himself.”

Starr was booked into Harris County Jail under suspicion of assault.  His bail was set at ten thousand dollars.

Representatives for Mr. Starr posted bail for the ex-Beatle.  They say he is resting comfortably in a Houston-area hotel, awaiting his arraignment in court later this week."

Oh dear lord. Ringo. They Tasered him! And the fact that he was rambling 'Peace and love.... peace and looooooove' makes it so much worse.
So, next time you go to BJ's and see a sign that says 'Ringo Starr got tasered in this restaurant' you better believe it.
